OJ-Bio was a UK based joint venture company established in 2009 by Japan Radio Co., Ltd. (JRC), a Japanese wireless communication company and Orla Protein Technologies (ORLA), a UK-based unique protein company.
The mission of OJ-Bio was to create new innovative hybrid concept through amalgamating the totally different 2 core technologies together, electronics and bio technologies.
In 2016, OJ-Bio successfully developed a Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) biosensor platform, an immunoassay based test kit. The platform developed is small, rapid, ease to use and less-expensive and quantitative.
At this moment, the mission of OJ-Bio has been completed, a joint venture company, OJ-Bio has been shut down and will officially be liquidated soon. On the other hand, the name of OJ-Bio is well known over the “bio” world through its excellent work for the past several years. JRC, therefore, wishes to keep the logo “OJ-Bio” and the website “OJ-Bio.com”. JRC will update current activities through the OJ-Bio website.
After all the activities of OJ-Bio transferred to Japan, JRC and Ueda Japan Radio Co., Ltd. (UJRC), one of JRC’s subsidiaries, have agreed to work together for the production as UJRC has been a well-established medical product manufacture and also is well-experienced in the medical applications and ISO13485 certified.
OJ-Bio has developed Xtalsens, a portable testing device based on our SAW biosensor platform allowing rapid and reliable tests in the point-of-care scene. Xtalsens needs very little maintenance and is so easy to use not only for the professionals but also for the ordinary individuals to bring about health and wellness in daily life.
JRC/UJRC shall welcome business partners for any business possibilities of Xtalsens.
We are open to opportunities for out-licensing, co-development opportunities, and co-marketing agreements. We shall work closely with our business partners, be more than happy to help them to expand their product range, and access to new and emerging medical/wellness markets.
