Benefits

OJ-Bio products offer several major benefits over current diagnostic methods: Simple and easy to use

This is simple instrumentation that can be operated easily using minimal reagents.  We have already shown sensitive direct detection of analytes in complex fluids such as serum.

Rapid Analysis
The sensor responds immediately to analyte binding to the surface, and we envisage that most assays will be <5min.

Sensitive and Reproducible
Model assays for CRP are quantitative, have shown good sensitivity (pM) and have excellent intra-assay variability (<10%) in serum.

Cost-effective Mass Manufacture
Through use of mass manufacturing techniques commonly used in the electronics industry, we can mass produce both the sensor chips and the device at low cost.  Our parent company JRC currently manufacture 4 million SAW pieces per month, at a cost of a few cents per piece.  The same scale will be applied to our biosensor chips.

Wireless Connectivity
The electronic devices developed will be small, portable and offer wireless connectivity i.e we can send & receive data to and from the biochip “without wires”. JRC is a wireless communications company and bring extensive capability in wireless communications enabling connectivity to wireless networks.

Platform Flexibility
Current assay found on lateral flow devices and laboratory instrumentation can be readily adapted for use on the OJ-Bio devices.  This means that we can offer partners enhanced functionality, and the ability to enhance their existing product range, move into near patient testing, and enter new markets with minimum development time.  Your antibodies/assays can be easily adapted for incorporation onto the platform.
