Next generation Immunodiagnostics

Current rapid diagnostics are primarily based upon lateral flow technology.  Whilst effective for some applications there are some limitations with these tests.  They often lack sensitivity, are often only semi-quantitative and are based upon a visual reading.

OJ-Bio sensor technology is aimed at providing the ‘next-generation of such devices with enhanced performance, low cost manufacture, and wireless capability.

Oj-bio currently has development programmes in infectious disease (Flu/RSV, Chlamydia).  We are actively seeking partners in all disease areas for the application and marketing of these new diagnostics.

Model Assay system : C-reactive protein (C-RP)

We have developed a “demonstration assay” for our diagnostics platform. A model assay system for the sensitive measurement of human C reactive protein (C-RP).

Biological assays were performed following the generation of a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of capture reagent on the gold chip surface..  Monoclonal antibodies specific for human C-Reactive Protein (C-RP) are captured by the SAM.  Following the addition and formation of this primary antibody anti-C-RP capture layer, sample is added and a second antibody completes the “sandwich”. Signal generated as measured by phase shift [degrees] and amplitude [dBm] can be further amplified by the use of antibody conjugated to colloidal gold.
