OJ-Bio Limited, the wireless biosensor company, announced today that it will be presenting two posters at the prestigious Oak Ridge Conference: Emerging Technologies for 21st Century Clinical Diagnostics, taking place in San Jose, USA on 19 & 20th April 2012.
The Oak Ridge Conference is the American Association for Clinical Chemistry’s annual forum for emerging clinical diagnostic technologies and brings together thought leaders from industry, academia, and clinical laboratories. The conference focuses exclusively on pre-commercial technologies.
The posters will be on OJ-Bio’s Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) platform. The innovative technology platform enables the development of next generation near-patient diagnostic and monitoring products, providing accurate, quantitative results within 10 minutes.
The posters describe OJ-Bio’s work in the following areas:
– Wireless enabled surface acoustic wave (SAW) biosensor for simple, accurate and sensitive microalbumin testing at the point-of-care, as an indicator of kidney problems such as diabetes and hypertension
– on-the-spot clinical testing for respiratory diseases such as flu using a surface acoustic wave (SAW) biosensor
Dr. Vicki Lawson, Assay Development Scientist at OJ-Bio, who led the work and is presenting the posters at the conference said: “The Oak Ridge conference is renowned for attracting leading scientists and technologists to present their latest successes across a range of cutting-edge disciplines including diagnostics. We are delighted that the organisers have accepted two of our posters for presentation at the meeting”
